GOZ transfer issue...

Hi guys,

I want to transfer back to zbrush my new edits of a shirt to make those updated on my current “layered” ztool. But here’s the problem…

1.) I had 2 existing subtools in my subtool palette. Transferred both into 3ds max and merged/attached them together and welded the verts to 1 subtool.

2.) Now when I transfer it back as the “named” subtool that I want to overwrite with a new projection. It doesn’t. It just submits that goz’d mesh as a new ztool altogether…and I don’t want that. Because I have layers for the already sculpted mesh that is identical to the one I edited and want to overwrite.

Is there a way to tell what dumbness GoZ reads for its model information. So I can transfer it to an existing ztool document file that I am heavily working under that can allow me to now restart my work process and lose my layers of work?

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Have you tried just merging the two subtools in ZB before GoZ to Max? I think that would give you better results as GoZ is limited in the way you can change certain topology.

Of course, doing this you may lose your layer information, I’m not sure because I don’t use them!

Even then, I’m not sure if this is possible.

Good luck.
