goz to maya with faceted

Hi all,

When I goz from zbrush to maya I check the current rendering to see how it turn out it become to faceted. I also use soften edges. I do go to rendering setting in maya to mental ray and view hardware setting too. If anyone can give suggestion or help I really appreciate it.

Is that a displacement map or a normal map
what do your UVs look like?

Your render shows that you are using Maya Software and not mental ray. Try mental ray.

I did use displacement, normal and texture. I just wondering if I should proxy it and sud_d proxy which will give me high res model. I think it smooth out to much thou. i want to rig it.

Hi Zeesculptor, I did mental ray and hardware tex and still gave me the same result.

what do your UVs look like? My guess is you’re trying to use an automatic unwrap with a displacement…which is never a good idea.
