GOZ to Maya 2011:: Mental Ray doesnt work, please help.

Sorry my english first,

Mental ray keeps sending me this mesage: MENTAL RAY RENDER DIAGNOSTICS: Performance - ZBrushDispMap has a resolution of 4096x4096 which may be inefficient. - If ZBrushDispMap is not a memory mappable file, use imf_copy to convert it to .map format, to improve the performance. - ZBrushNormalMap has a resolution of 4096x4096 which may be inefficient. - If ZBrushNormalMap is not a memory mappable file, use imf_copy to convert it to .map format, to improve the performance. - ZBrushTexture has a resolution of 4096x4096 which may be inefficient. - If ZBrushTexture is not a memory mappable file, use imf_copy to convert it to .map format, to improve the performance. // Warning: 6 warnings, see script editor for details. // The mental ray render just worked once, then started sending this mesages and i already tryed at lower mapsize, please Help Windows XP Maya 2011 Zbrush 4

Why people in this forum never answer? this is another questions, are my post in the wrong place? or people just never come here?

Are you just using GoZ or are you exporting a 32BIT map? What your error is telling you is that Mental Ray prefers a .map extension.

Mental Ray is running out of RAM when rendering.

Now Maya is suppose to be automatically converting any tiff file into a .map but you have to turn the converter on in Maya 2011.

Go to your Setting/Preferences>Preferences>Render tab

Turn on Use optimized textures

Try that and let me know.

Ok, i tried the way u sayd, i turned on the Use optimized textures, but after rendering says the same:

So i think maybe ill start using C4D because i tryed Goz with C4D and i didnt had any trouble rendering and at C4D is not so much complications, its a shame because i really wanted to doit at Maya.

Ok this is just a warning. You should still get a render. How many polygons is your mesh in ZBrush?

What is your subdiv approximation setting at?
