GOZ ... The Tree Of Woe...

Hey hey guys,
not sure if this is the right section for this , but i need some assistance with getting this sorted…

see by my imported/export preferences are normal ( i think).

If i use GOz between ZB and Maya my mesh keeps coming in upside down and or rotated 90 degrees in X. VERY annoying… so i experimented with different import/export preferences now my normals keep getting reversed. and now when i change the topo in maya and then go back to ZB and press YES when its asks to apply the higher rez mesh i get black shaded areas on the mesh in ZB… whats this?

and when i use GOZ to go back into Maya the mesh DISSAPEARS!!! or i end up with a mesh with no material on it. i am pulling my hair out over this. arrgghhh…!!
