GoZ issue

I’ve come across this on occasion, but it’s usually not as extreme as this. Sometimes I go back and forth between Zbrush and Max quite a bit. When I GoZ from Max, I get this in Zbrush:

In the past, I’ve been able to get rid of this by smoothing out the parts that are messed up, but that’s not an option here, especially in the hands. Why does this happen? And how can I fix it or prevent it?
