I followed the “upgrade” pdf . then in zbrush i updated all paths. all worked except photoshop!
Is there a good, solid reason why a 64 bit version of the plugin was not compiled for the mac? Photoshop has been 64 bit for some time now. If it was just an oversight, will you correct this soon? Or, if you are having technical difficulties, please just say so. There are plenty of people willing and able to help.
I have similar situation… When I press Goz button, options in Import/Export rollout for iFlipY, iFlipZ, eFlipY, eFlipZ somehow suddenly becomes unpressed(although they are turned on and stored as a config file) and I get flipped model in 3dsMax 2011. I press them again before hitting GoZ button, and again they becomes unpressed.
Before upgrading to this newest version of GoZ, all worked perfectly.
TeckZ: Your maps are loaded and displayed in the Tool palette>>Texture/Displacement/Normal?
SuperHer0: check that you have in the Photoshop>>plug-ins folder, a GoZ folder with a file inside.
iskon: GoZ, depending of the target application, can switch some I/O settings, but bring back everything to normal when done. But if you changed these I/O settings by default (you mentioned that is store in the config), GoZ may mix with the settings you have changed. Please, let me know if you changed by default the I/O preferences of ZBrush. It’s important as GoZ is using for the 3DSMax important constant I/O settings, then that’s why you may have this axis flips.
What happen if you quit ZBrush, move out of ZBrush folder the ZStartup *.cfg files, restart Zbrush, then try to use GOZ. Do you still have this change of axis ?
There is the GoZ folder but no file inside!

In Photoshop the window appears blank unless I move it or move the 3d object in the layer tools. I’m guessing this is a graphics card issue. I have an ATI HD 5900 card and installed the latest drivers. anyone else having this issue?

SuperHer0: then check for the manual install and manually copy the corresponding file in Photoshop (then it’s definitly a permission issue)
TeckZ: do you have a way to provide us your ZTool or Project?
zenonithus: yes, I think it’s an openGL issue, it’s not related to ZBrush
mr.BananaS: well, even by reading the manual, you may have miss that one. It’s not easy to have a default setting for the projection distance which work with all the meshes, then sometime, depending of the scale, etc…

I also have problems with GoZ launching several instances of Maya each time I want to move a subtool to Maya.
I have tried everything said in here and in the manual install instructions etc.
I have both disabled UAC and had it On (Rebooted inbetween changes too). With UAC on I get a confirmation screen when I install GoZ to Maya, I have pressed yes, and I get a GoZ Shelf and button in maya.
I am able to move the objects from Maya to Zbrush without any problems, but trying to move them from ZB to Maya cause multiple instances of Maya.
I have tried to run maya and ZB as administrator by turning it on in their exe properties, 1 at a time, and both at the same time. And of course had them both off.
It was sugested in this thread to give full permission to the user/public/Pixologic folder. For me it is set to Read Only, I have tried to remove this, but everytime I do it, it turns itself on again.
All files are in the correct places (as far as I know). The userSetup.mel is in the Maya 2012 script folder in My Documents and includes the lines suggested in here and in the manual instructions manual.
I feel as I have tried everything, but I am unable to get it to work.
I hope someone will have a working sollution for this soon!

Pretty awesome update…I’ve been waiting to use something like this so I don’t have to polypaint…and it seems to add a workflow of painting multiple textures.
Now, for some reason, when I use GoZ, it doesn’t consolidate the visible subtools into a single multi layered 3d scene inside of photoshop… I am guessing this a optimisation… (it creates separate 3D files which will pose problems later when I want all of the painted data into a single file with Layers)
Also is there a way to GoZ export a SubD lvl 2 to photoshop with Polygroups?

I installed the goZ update for PC, i’m using zbrush4 with maya 2011 64 bit. If i click on goZ in zbrush it starts calculating like it wud normally do but then it just doesnt open up maya, i follow the instructions in the upgrade pdf and also did the manual install pdf and i deleted the goz shelf in maya

In your ‘GoZ_Upgrade_steps’ pdf Mac users are asked to navigate to ‘Users/Shared/Public/ folder’. I don’t have this Public folder (See image)!? What should I do? Thanks.
i did the manual install and manually copyd the files … its works with max just fine for now … but there’s no photoshop … but in photoshop i can see the goz … !! wht’s wrong ?

Just a question, does some of you who have issues are running Symmantec products like Norton 2010 / SONAR / Norton 360?
It seems that Norton may consider some GoZ files as a treat and quarantine them. As you can imagine, GoZ files are safe and the only executable which are launch for GoZ are utilities (launching the target app or send back file to ZBrush, or the GoZ installers).
None of these products antiviruses are installed on my pc…

I know GoZ is working perfectly but I messed something and now I have this behavior in 3dsMax.
Didn’t try second option yet(moving .cfg file)…
