GoZ Help

Over the past month or so, I have been getting acclimated to Zbrush. I have hit a brick wall with GOZ. I have followed the tutorial on importing to Cinema 4D step by step. I have imported the necessary script in Cinema 4D, as well.

My first problem is in Zbrush – when I go to TEXTURE MAP and click NEW FROM POLYPAINT – the paint on my model becomes a blocky, displaced mess – and disappears from part of the model as well. Clearly I am doing something wrong here. However, I am just following the tutorial – which seems to be the only procedural on GoZ.

I follow the rest of the tutorial and nothing seems to import into Cinema 4D. GoZ opens Cinema 4D like it should – but I see nothing. If someone could break this down for me, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you kindly in advance.

Regarding the problem with New from Polypaint, it sounds like your model has bad UV mapping.

Go to level 1 of your model and then check out the Tool>UV Map menu. Set a desired texture size and press PUVTiles. This will map the model. When you return to the highest level and use New from Polypaint it should now work fine.

If you need specific UV mapping then what you would want to do is go to level 1, store a morph target (or switch to the one you stored before dividing) and import a new version of the model that has the desired mapping. Make sure that the point order of the model is unchanged. Before returning to the highest level you would need to switch morph targets.

aurick, thank you very, very much for your quick response. It worked. Thank you.
