Hi,
Somewhere along the line while using GoZ to move a model back and forth between Z4 and Maya, the model became divided down the middle in a way that is invisible until you subdivide. Then there is a gap down the middle of the geometry that separates the model into left and right halves.
Is there a way to use Subtool Master or some other utility to rejoin these halves or mirror one side in a way that merges the halves?
Normally, I would move the model into Maya, delete one half of the model and use the polygon tools to mirror and merge. Either set to ‘Faces Mode’, select all geo and then go to ‘Mesh’ > ‘Mirror Geometry’ or set to ‘Vertex Mode’, select the center line vertices then go to ‘Mesh’ > ‘Mirror Geometry’. For some reason this isn’t working. Even after ‘Deleting All By Type History’. In addition to using GoZ I have also exported the mesh from Z4 as an .OBJ and imported into Maya as an .OBJ but I cannot overcome the problem. I have attached images to illustrate.
I have the ‘WorkAround’ of joining the halves one vertex at a time through Maya’s ‘Merge Vertex’ polygon tools but I was hoping there was an easier solution.
Thanks!
~S.~
