GoZ BLENDER?

Dear Zbrush 4 Dev Team,

WIll GoZ support Blender?

As a Blender user, on behalf on the Blender Community I would like some clarifcation please on this issue.

Many Thanks,
Akshay

We cannot talk about what may or may not be available in the future, beyond what has been officially announced. So I can’t tell you if there are any plans to provide an automated bridge for GoZ from ZBrush to Blender. Since I’m not part of the development team I don’t even know if it’s possible – it depends a great deal on whether Blender has a robust plugin capability. If not, then such support could only ever be provided with the direct participation of Blender’s development team.

What I can tell you is that [COLOR=White]you don’t need the bridge buttons to be able to use GoZBrush. In fact, you can use it right now. The core portion of GoZ is the fact that you can export your model to another app (provided it supports the .OBJ format), drastically alter its topology, then import it back into ZBrush without losing the work you’ve already done. That is present in 3.5R3, and will also be present from the very beginning in ZBrush 4. The bridge feature is a convenience; nothing more.

See here for more info: http://www.pixologic.com/docs/index.php/Tips_and_Tricks#GoZBrush

If you haven’t already try looking at http://www.pixologic.com/docs/index.php/ZBrush_to_Blender good luck.

Cheers guys & Thanks for all your help & clarification!

i exported the GO-Z format.

when i import it into blender i dont see the mesh. so i dont think this works.

can anyone help?
thanks

I haven’t actually tryed doing anything with Blender(well I looked at it yrs ago and just DLed the new Vr.) But I think for now You’ll just have to go with exporting the Obj. note: without going in to details, My history with ZBrush is somewhat scattered but coming back in seems so much easier,…even easier than My transition from an old app called Amorphoum(Sp?)to ZB. If I do any thing with Blender and ZB I’ll Try to Leave A post.

Example
for Blender 2.90.1 and ZBrush 2021.1

a) download archives

(for Blender 2.80/2.83)

b) modify in archives in Notepad

README.md

  • C:\Users\XXXXX\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.90\2.90\scripts\addons*GoB*

init.py
“blender”: (2, 90, 1),
