Gore Withdrawals thread

thnx guys. Yeah, my trees suck …lol…it’s funny when you are modeling…and you are saying to yoruself…wow this looks pretty good …then go back and pull that model out at a later date and have feelings of revulsion for that thing you once loved…snicker…kinda like being married…ooops…

Well this guy has short legs and a big head…so that makes him a bit creepy to begin with I guess…I modeled more on the head and chest a bit…used a stump model rather than the other trees…no leaves this time and he’s eating a hand this time as opposed to a foot as in the last. And gave him an origin for the carnage and a feeding trail…enjoy…in the end, for me at the moment it’s all for fun.

Ground terrain is beautiful! How was it done?

thnx Beek…

here is a script…you can use any alpha…like a pic of pebbles or gravel …for this script I used one of the default alphas that comes with zbrush…just to give you the idea…the higher the rez the 3d plane, the better the results for the desired alpha…you can get some wild results with this method…glad you liked the ground.

Hey all. Something I am playing with at the moment. Don’t get a surprised look, but yes, it’s another zombie… Just getting a couple of models ready to try out things soon as z3 hits…two months and countin’…thnx Pix and team…

But that is the reason for the feet being bent downwards. I hope z will run on vista? Getting a new computer in a couple of weeks. Finally…xps410…woohoo! and 4 gigs of ram…it will be like stepping out of the dark ages with this old PIII.

The zombie is level 6 subD and 200K polys. MtB mat and lightsetups…(my favs). No eyes or teeth…

(Lonnie, good to know yer lurking…long live S.P.O.C)

also I did mitten hands and feet for form only…I just cant master toes and fingers with zspheres…at least not five fingers…3 and 4 are simple…that 5th one throws my models off way too badly…grrrr…

Good to see your having fun. Its the main thing isn’t it? I like the colours on the post above… Zombies rock. haha.

Hi Ron

good to see you still at it, thoguht you had dissapeared or have ijust been missing your posts? You new zombies looking good you seem to be getting the anatomy proportions in there. Though his chest seems to defined against his rib cage, where the rib cage meets in the middle, the arch seems to smooth. Htere should be a dip or break there where the to halfs meet.

So A nnew system with 4gig, you’le be flying to the moon with that won’t you:D wow I’m only running on 1.5 gig with the plan to take it up to 3. As with Vista, what i have heard from my friend, is that software doesn’t seem to prove a problem and the only hardware problem he has had so far is with his creative sound card it don’t like that for some reason. Other than that he say Vista is a dream. Me I’m still on Win 2000:o But with a promise fro ma friend i can have his XP discs when he upgrades to Vista.

Incidently if you missed me post, I’m back on the Sin Eaters thread working gula.

laters and keep up the good work

Why don’t you bail out to Wings3D or equivalent when you got your basic Z-Sphere mesh, and then add the missing fingers there, go back and you are all set.

PS:Check your ‘Hairy’ thread 8). Ron Bauer lol…

I really, really like that last pic with the bunches of zombies. Very nice work. You’ve come a long, long way over the years. Can’t wait to keep reading and see what else I come across from you.

I think it would add a whole new dimension to what you do there Ron.

I usually go straight to the revulsion part.

Hey all…now that Z3 has totally enveloped your world and mine for sure…lol I decided to go back to z2 models and pose them a bit…the far left zombie is a new one I am working on a bit, but the other two are z2 monsters…part of my original posing problem was that I was not using the masking before I moved limbs …or at least attempted to…definitely learning a bit for sure…especially that I will from now on model in the spread eagle rather than from a squatted figure…lol straightening out the legs took me a bit and then I found that I have to go back and smooth out and resculpt the mesh around the limbs…and that masked areas have to be masked well, or little bits and pieces from a poorly masked area will give you very strange results, like spikes appearing out of no where.

I still havent pushed the Order button yet for my new computer, so I am still workign with my old Pentium III with 512megs of ram…it handles z3 ok…and I have achieved about 850K models without too much difficulty…doesnt bog down too bad…

Finding alot of relearning/new learning/ refreshing and head on table banging, moments currently…lol…but it’s all good in the end. Too bad some of my favorite z2 mats and lights are pretty much worthless to me now…grrrr

Have a great week ahead.
