Hi I’m looking for a good video card that works well with ZBrush 4. My current card is a GeForce 8600 GTS card with DirectX10 and OGL2.0 Support. This card worked fine with ZBrush 3.5 but now I’m getting Driver crashes with ZBrush4.
Could be a window vista business problem but I’m not sure yet since Zbrush4 was just released. Updating vista has been a real pain however, driver crashes especially while under vista. I’m going to upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate tomorrow.
your card will work fine in windows7…make sure you have the latest GPU drivers as well.
This is strange as ZBrush doesn’t use your graphic card for 3D operations like other 3D software. ZBrush is a 100% CPU software.
Then, your video card is fine, perhaps just update your video card drivers,found at the NVidia website (and not video card manufacturer)
FYI, ZBrush is running perfectly with Windows 7
Right Zbrush is mostly CPU and RAM but I believe it still uses the GPU for the OGL shading.
Well I installed Win7 Pro today. Immediately I can see a difference in the driver handling and the performance is better too. I’ll let you all know how it goes later on when I put my computer under some real stress.
I think I wrote 100% CPU
