goblin w/ zscript

taking a break from my portrait… made a lil’ goblin, it was really fun making this. only took about 10-20 minutes…i’m gonna keep going with it, but i didn’t want the zscript file to get too big. I need to hurry and get some money and get a tablet. i’ve never used one before, but i hear it’s even more fun with zbrush and tablet.

very fine looking model…I just downloaded yer script and will run it before I hit the sack…will love getting some insight into how you do your lips (like in your portrait thread). Great looking model…thnx for sharing…I am sure I will learn a few things myself…
kind regards,
ron

thanks for the kind comments ron. hope the zscript works…i forgot to mention there there are a lot of undos…and also i didn’t play it back yet to see if it works.

if you all haven’t downloaded pixolater’s white dino shader already, get it. it’s a must have for your materials collection. …in the meantime, i’ll keep working on this goblin, i’m having a blast making it

Thanks sharing your skills and wrks, its a nice model, and the base zsphere modell will help the Z community a lot!

You have no tablet? So you do a great job without it! Will be amawing when you will have one…
Good luck!

well you made for an interesting night…my advice for anyone viewing the script is to speed it up…I watched 98 percent of the thing…started right after my last posting in this thread and finally left the script running at around 615 this morning…lol…the only problem I had with it was near the end it snaphot the model onto the screen and kept on modeling…probably something in my system causing that…but I was able to see about all the script…you modeled wonderfully and it was a pleasure to sit thru the session. I always love watching such a terrific model come out of the rough zsphere models…it’s magic…I learned alot from your patience in the session. How long was the actual modeling process for this model? Just curious. I am very glad and appreciative that you posted this zscript…I give this thread a vote of excellence and reccommend for any of the members old and new to review this…
yer new fan,
Ron

…for see it

heh, that’s kinda strange that it played back so slowly by default ron. I still have yet to watch it myself, but i think the snapshotting could have possibly come from my erractic movement when rotating the model.

i know nothing about zscripts, but maybe I can open up the zscript file and get a jist of what’s happening, and then clean up the zscript later tonight.

oh, and it only took about 10 to 15 minutes to make. 20 minutes at the very most. I was suprised myself how quickly it came together (and i was just sorta goofing with it around too). I’m gonna keep going with this one, I think it’ll be fun to play around with this guy, especially when the new zbrush update is realized and i can surface rig this dude.

wow…you worked really fast then…love the model…played around with the material and give him some eyes and a few quick wrinkles…

duuuude, that looks so freakin’ awesome!!! the eyes, the teeth(you always make excellent teeth), the material, the expression. I love it! it’s brilliant…I know you can’t see it, but i have a smile from ear to ear right now.

got a chance to look at the zscript and it’s waaaay too long. so, in effort to clean it up, i’m making a VB application (vb is as close as I get to programming/coding) that will clean up zscripts. for now, all it’s really going to do is look at the .txt file, find the undo commands, remove them, then remove the canvas stroke preceding the undos. I suppose other things can be added later on to make it more convienient. but for now, by getting rid of undos, it will make playing back zscripts faster, smaller in file size, and will eat less memory when playing back the zscript. It will also be useful for those of us who want to give the zscript away but feel that they made too many mistakes in the process. …i’ll also look into seeing if i can make this a zplugin rather than a vb program.

more work on it. the plan is only to detail one side, and mirror the the detail to the other side, but i’ve been having some trouble mirroring what i have so far. i’ll post a thread in the q&t forum about it later. but for now, here’s where i’m at with it. once it’s done, i’ll give the ztool to everyone.

also, that reminds me: the zscript in the first post acts really funky, sorry about that. i’ll just give you all the tool that it makes in the end since the zscript doesn’t work how it should…plus it’s just way too long.

:+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

ron, i’ve gotta add you to my IM list

this model isn’t dead yet…i’ve got a little more effort to throw at it, before i toss it in the closet of lost models.

toy_eyes.JPG

it’s still a zsphere base, and i’m still giving it away when it’s done (or when i just stop playing around with it, whichever comes first)

I just want to give everyone a heads up; I’m giving this ztool away to everyone tonight since i’ve made significant progress on it since the zscript in the first post.

it may be too big to upload to zbc (even though the model is stll attached to zspheres), so if anyone could volunteer to host it, that’d be most appreciated.
