wow…
cool sculpt
Well buddy, I like it! Has a great green man feel to him, which i love; reminds me of the Robert Holdstock books I read way back.
It’s great, dude - DO NOT GIVE UP!!!
Must admit that I would love to see it textured though, i can almost smell the earth, the wood, the moss and fungus… i’m off to model britt ekland slapping her naked self against a wall
Yeah, thats pretty awesome—I do wish that his skin look more woodlike to match all the branches shooting out of him and I think that the feet could use a bit more attention.

just thought i’d share some drawings, to keep things rolling

Nice work, man. I really like the graphic quality of the hand and foot studies. Are these from live models?
whoa…you really got something here.
but i guess you already know that dont you ?
I can’t believe your green man was denied. Your work is like a beautiful nightmare. Keep it coming.
Love it as always! I’m glad to see some fresh work. Have you tried rendering it with a harsher light? The shadow pattern created by the roots could make an interesting composition.
Don’t worry about cgtalk, it happened to me many times. They don’t accept untextured models and that’s a shame.
The studies are very well done! What’s your feeling on the Bargue/Academic method versus the constructive approach Bridgeman/Vilppu as an aid to 3d modeling?

Hey dude, from the quality of your work, it’s difficult to see why you why you’d lost motivation, but being an angst kind-of-an-artist myself, \i get it.
Thanks for posting your image right after mine, it looks better than my piece, damn you!
Very cool piece buddy
Very cool. Take a break come back to the piece, motivation will return.
one of the best ideas I have seen in a long while man I really like it, good work
Thanks a lot for the answer! That is some really valuable information for me, as I’m making my first steps into it. I think that I have reached the same conclusion, that you first need a critical eye to be able to read what you are seeing and then to translate it into something more complex. Good construction isn’t possible without first identifying the line, angle, shape and proportion.
I’m having the same motivational problem at the moment and will take a pause hoping it will pass, maybe I’ll focus more in drawing in the meantime.
Cheers!
Thanks for posting the drawings, they are so well done! Interesting to read your thoughts on learning methods - couldn’t agree with you more. The latest revision of the sculpt looks great. .
RawSunlight: Haha thanks
jaystein777: Thank you for the advice, that’s the best remedy
dmxdxl: thank you very much
Undoz: Thanks, and thanks for the advice, glad to see your getting back to things, and your absolutly right, things will work out.
Etcher: Thank you, glad you like the revisions
Here’s something I started.

Great work (as always). This last one has a nice mood to it. To me it seems evil, calm, and crazy haha. So far no crits, I look forward to seeing it develop.
Great work dude!! I like that the renders have a dark horror mood.
Coool!
Love your render style!
Keep it up!
