Gladiator

Hey guys!

Thought I’d make a new thread for this piece. Basically the idea was to create a somewhat simple model and record the whole process. So there you go… Pretty much everything, apart from some small elements and the process of texturing and rendering, is recorded. Be warned though, the whole thing is 7:40 hours long. So grab some popcorn and enjoy I guess. Hopefully the videos will be of a help to someone
Made with ZBrush, 3ds MAX, Mari and Keyshot.

Great model ! I’ll be sure to check out your recording. Thanks for it

Incredible o.o And very inspiring!

Fantastic job! Thanks for the videos. Keep up the good work! :+1:

Beautiful sculpt. Exquisite detail work! Thanks for the “making of” videos, too! :+1:

good indumentaria, modeling also magnificent!

Awesome. Beautiful sculpt. Thanks for sharing the making of.

great model

badass!

Thanks for those videos. Time to study. And a very very nice sculpt! top row if you ask me.

This is a fantastic gift, thank you! I’m learning a lot watching the sculpting clips. I still say your mushroom man should have been in top row.

One thing that bugs me (I also asked this on yt, sorry for the repetition) – how did you swap in the head with nice edge flow? In one frame, the head is still a proxy lump, in the next frame it’s sculpted with perfect edge flow. I’m trying to think how this was achieved – attached and welded in max, then ‘project all’ in zbrush to capture back the body sculpting?

edit: saw your reply on yt, thanks! I’ve gotten as far as part 10, so much to go through! I’m amazed you’re offering all this for free, very generous. :+1:

Very nice model and great tutorials. :+1:

Glad you guys like it!

Im not a big fan of teh final render, but the model, damn its just amazing. Then again, your sculpts are always insane good ;]

Thanks so much for sharing all the recorded sessions! Awesome work!!:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

Whoa ! Your anatomical knowledge is truly fantastic ! And everything looks so subtle ! I realy like the way you use the clay tube brush on a “low res” model.
I’ll be glad if I can achive some day half the realism of your sculpts ! Thank you for sharing these wonderfull videos with us !
I’m looking forward to see the same process with some kind of amazon  It might be realy interesting to see you working on a female character !

WOW!

FANTASTCI!!!

Incredible piece too!!

Thanks for sharing your techniques

slocik: Could you tell what exactly you don’t like about the renders? This is my third time I’m actually rendering something and not using ZBrush to compose some screen shots, so any crits or input are more than welcome

skullmonkey: And you will. Love for what you do, time and effort is all that it takes to be good at something. I’m sure I’ll have more female models to show in the future
