Gilbran Imami's Sketchbook

Hi everyone!
I’ve been a long time lurker in this forum since the first time I got my hand on Zbrush 1 year ago. Since then I’ve been practicing almost everyday to make a great sculpt.
So for the first time I want to share my latest personal project, my self-portrait sculpt. And I am really looking forward for any kind of feedback.

I added Stormtrooper armor in the end because I always wanted to see how I look like wearing one.

WOW this is amazing, one year!!. Now i feel really bad !! You are a very good sculptor, sir. What is your background before zbrush?

I cant say about the likeness but i doubt it’s anything but spot on. Very cool with the stormtrooper armour.

Congrats on this amazing image, can i ask how long did it take to make , hours?

@Ylog : Thank you for your kind words. Very encouraging for a first poster like me :). Before ZBrush I don’t really have any 3D art background really. One day on August 2015 (still remember it like yesterday), I played some games and thought “Hey, that character is so well made. I want to make something like that”. Just like that I was really hooked with ZBrush, and still am.

I wanted to share my ref images also so people can comment on likeness, but i thought it’d be too embarassing .

I spent 6-8 hours a day for ~4 days to make the head and 3 days to make the armor.
Oh, and extra 1 day in the beginning just to gather references because they say you can never have enough references, right?

Thats really impressive, 1 year of zbrush with no prior art backround to making this in a week???!!!

It might just be me, but damn thats good. You must be very commited. Congrats ! cant wait to see more from you.

cool. that must have been very gratifying seeing that come together. great work

Excellent project :+1:
You make great strides, cannot wait to see more

Thanks Takai and Ehren.
Here is a little bit update I’ve made.
I created the texture manually using polypaint in zbrush and rendered it in Maya using Vray.

Great, but looks very unnatural.
