Getting weird results in Zbrush

Hey there, I’m currently working on the ‘Detailing next gen characters in Zbrush’ Tutorial, working on a characters head and trying to get the details right. I’ve got the settings exactly the same (at least I believe they are), as the guy doing the tutorial, but for some reason I’m getting different results. We’re both using tablets, although when I try to add details the mesh looks more like it has a melted candle wax effect, than actual details.

Here’s a screenshot of my mesh:-

And here’s the link to his version, check the 2nd video at the top, to compare both our work - its the same video I’m working from.

If anyone could tell me if I’m doing anything wrong, or if its actually a case of him just having way more experience than I do, that would be great. Thanks a lot!

It’s possible that your Preferences>Tablet settings are different from the instructor’s. Or that your pressure sensitivity settings in the tablet’s driver are higher.

ZBrush can use tablet pressure in many ways. If you’re getting lumpy results due to changes in your pen pressure, try adjusting the applicable settings in the places mentioned above.

Ah thankyou I changed it and it seems to be working a lot better than it was. Do you know if there are any ideal settings for the tablet? I suppose its more based on preference of the users themselves. Thanks a lot.
