Getting meshes in from Mudbox

Hi there ,I have done some work in Mudbox ,which I now need to get into Z-Brush ,I have saved out all the Layers as OBJ’s ,and the workflow in Mudbox would be to bring in your base mesh subdivide it the amount that youy Hi-Rez mesh is and then imprt your Hi-Rez mesh in as a Layer. What Im looking for is this workflow or somthing similar in Z-Brush (I cant seem to find a thread on the forums hence mine) .Hope that made some kind of sense ,and any help would be much appreciated.:+1:
Thanks Robin

The easiest thing to do, would be to import the highest resolution subD level in as an obj , the use the “reconstruct subdivision” feature in the geometry palette to rebuild the lower sub D levels. If you want the lo poly base level to match exactly, then reimport the base level Obj in on top of the rebuilt one.

If for some reason that doesn’t work, you could use the same process you described, just re-subdivide the base level mesh the proper amount, then reimport the high rez mesh over top of the highest level mesh, using a layer is not neccesary.

That assumes the programs subdivide polygons in the same way. If not, Mesh Projection could also be used to project the high rez details onto a figure re-subdivided from low poly base.

Many thanks Mr Bingo ,I shall give that a go.
