I think my model may be too small. When I export and create maps in Topogun it’s creating some weird banding. Then when I try to apply a displacement map the entire character is blowing up to the point where it is entirely unrecognizable. I’ve applied displacement before using both maya’s internal renderer and Mental Ray, so I know I’m not making a technical error in the application of the map to the model.
When I bring the objs into maya they are definitely small on the grid. Is there a “best size” to try to shoot for that works great with maps and if so, is there a base template model that I should try to scale my existing model up to meet?
