Getting a specular map out of ZB

Just thinking out loud really here. Some materials such as chrome has a higher reflection value than chalk for example. I’m aware that its not actually reflecting in the true sense of the word but neverless a different material.

So if we polypaint a model with different colours and export a diffuse map that is all good - but if we paint the model with a mixed material for example chalk and chrome is there any way to export the difference in specular values to a map that each has.

Usually I do a complete different paint job to make the spec map and export it as a diffuse or am I missing something obvious…Still fairly new to ZB but lovin’ it.

Hey Hotknife… i made a matcap that was designed for that purpose alone… but that is so cool…

Is that something you could share, basically I want to paint chrome and chalk with different diffuse colours and export both the spec level and the diffuse level…simplified example.

You’ll find my matcap in the repository… it is called the Spec Visualiser…

EDIT: you can also paint your spec map using Projection Master as well…just apply a blank texture and trigger projection master.

Do you mean the MatCap Library…here

Its a bit crap because it doesn’t have a search function.

What section is it by the way - can’t find it!
Could u post it at all
