geometry artifact cleanup

Hello

I am experimenting with very simple/sloppy sculpting techniques using a sphere and the snake hook brush then using dynamesh and zremesher- I am running into strange issues in areas where holes are created where the holes get filled in with exploding multicolored chunks of geometry after dynameshing/zremesher-

How can I clean up geometry like this? does it have a name? Please see the attached images below

I am not sure why you have developed different polygroups during dynameshing… (those would be the various colored small polygons in your image)

To try and remove the artifacts;

Ctrl+Shift click on the MAIN red colored mesh you want to preserve. (when you do this all of the small fragments should disappear from the workspace, becoming hidden)

Go to Geometry> Modify topology > Delete hidden.

This will remove the small fragmented pieces.

You can then maybe dynamesh again (ctrl-drag) if needed.
