GDS World 2012 Sketchbook (Character Artist)

Hey Everyone,

I’m in my final year at university now and I really want a Character artist job at the end of this year.
I’m going to be using this thread to really push myself as an artist and also help other artists along the way until I find a job in the industry.
Fire away any questions you may have about my process.

Starting with some renders of Urban Julia Chang I worked on for my university module.

Please provide feedback so I can improve further.

2 days left to my university deadline. Done the first pass on colours today. Just need to neaten up the colours and then add some post-production magic to this work.

After spending a month on this piece its finally finished.
Piece is titled ‘Balance’
Post-production was done using Photoshop.
Model was based off Shayla Worley (American Gymnast) who injured her leg
during training which ended her Olympic career.

Thanks nebular and KC-Production for your comments. Appreciate that.

Truly outstanding work. I think you’ve captured just the right amount of tension, poise and elegance. Very well done.
