Hey dude, this looks fabulous, though i think your losing detail and depth from the flatshaded to the textured version, mainly due to the lighting i recon.

One of these days man you’re going to learn to model, pose, texture and generally use a really cool product called Zbrush. When you do, we are going to be so impressed with the stunning work in that future timeline that you will be perceived as… (where the hell’s my dictionary, no, no, the Klingon version…)

Wow… My only comment, is the buckles and fasteners look too bright and clean. They should have scratches and such on them. Make them look more “used”.
I know you said you use a custom alpha youve done from a picture but what im wandering its how you applied it? You said it was on a different layer but how do you put him on the model? I ask you because Im currently trying to do a chainmal with alpha but Im not able to applied it correctly it wont never tile… If you could give me any tips hehe… Yeah I know we ask you too much hehe;)
