Hello.
Pestopants - This is now a poly mesh. It is no longer connected to the ZSphere structure. I will probably rig them in Maya.
Ron Harris - Hilarious! My girlfriend loved your comments. Particularly the South Beach Forbidden Fruit diet! Thanks.
Drummer, Vivien, smileman, MattHHH, ricgreen1, Dickie, higran, - Thanks for the kind words!
Kircho - Thanks for the reference and the uh, analysis?
It probably has alot to do with my preoccupation with structure. Female faces are always difficult for me because of this. The trick I have been exploring lately is to put the structure in as I do and then just soften it slightly with the smooth brush. Also, like a dope I put in the adams apple on the original face which will go along to making this a different sort of picture.
aminuts - LOL.
remcv8 - in terms of anatomy, I find breasts are confusing because they are both muscle (the pectorialis) and fat. In this way, I always sculpt the pectoralis first and then build the fat on top of this. I do not think the female models breast are realistic, however, and am due to change them soon enough.
Jason - Glad the show went well. I am sorry I couldn’t do it but after we announced the roadmap I was very grateful I had no other commitments.
Thanks for the kind words.
Chad - This is all ZBrush 2. I used Projection Master. I recorded much of the process so I will see about gettng the script up here.
frogspasm - a beautiful and huge loft downtown. Everyday I walk in and smile!
Thanks for the kinds words.
neuroticgothguy - First, please be more specific in your criticism. Also, as someone who has studied the human figure since I was 6 years old I must recommend against using Gray’s anatomy as a reference. The first book I would recommend you to is Dr. Paul Richer’s anatomy book and not just the pictures but the text as well. Then the incomparable book by Eliot Goldfinger.
Both of these books take a look at morphology as opposed to strictly medical anatomy. Morphology is the study of form as opposed to its details: anatomy. The shapes of humans are determined by more than you will find in Gray’s Anatomy, specifically: fat, skin thickness variations, wear and tear and many other things.
Also, I would recommend John H. Vanderpoel and Harold Speed to help you get your hands on structural approaches to the figure.
Giantsun - Thanks man.
The blurred face was just a visual idea I was playing with. Decided to leave it on. Thanks for the words.
