Gaps in in my UV Layout

I’ve never really had any issues with UV’s and Zbrush until now. I’ve tried to search around on the forums for 2 days before I started asking questions. I have the feeling this will be a simple fix but I’ll leave that up to one of you guys or girls.

Here is the process I went through to make my UV map.

1.) Sculpted an imported base mesh from Maya “WITHOUT” UV’s

2.) Brought the model down to it’s lowest level, exported the OBJ (with the defaults import/export settings AND with all of the settings off)

3.) Brought the OBJ into Headus UVlayout v2, made the UV layout

4.) Imported the OBJ back into Zbrush 3.1, I’ve pressed Col<Txr and UV check (mostly to see what any issues might be.)

5.) I’ve exported the UV/Texture to import onto the ztool (same version/points as the obj file)

I’ve used this method without issues many times. I have the feeling that I’m just forgetting something very simple, a new install of software has lost some of my old config settings so I have the feeling that might be the issue.

I would also like to stay away from AUV tiles.

Thanks for any and all help.

Here is the result I’ve gotten, I’ve also shown my UV layout in UV space.

Ok, I have no idea what happend, I went over the process with my friend Adam and it’s working fine now.

Steps I took (just like always)

1.) Export the lowest level of the model

2.) Do the UV Layout in Headus

3.) Import back in with the ztl at it’s lowest level, work my way back up to make sure it translates over to all sub div levels.

Worked fine.
