Thank you very much guys!! I really appreciate that you like it
Before starting at the game artist academy I already had a lot of experience in 3d, but not specifically in characters, even though I did use zbrush and try to sculpt stuff when I could. I would not say I´m a natural at all man!! it has taken tons of work to improve, and I´d say that being in this school has been a great important part of the improvement. By this I mean that we have been doing weekly homework for two years now… All this homework that we do was critizied by our teachers and they made a video showing all the stuff that was done wrong and how to fix it. I truly believe that this will boost your improvement, as the next time you start sculpting those parts that gave you trouble you try to focus on the crit they gave you and try to do it right. It will take you way longer to figure out where you are failing without the crits… hope this makes sense
About this last project I think it has been around two months of work, but it´s very difficult to set up a timeline, cause it´s not like I´m working on it all day, I only do it when I have free time, so I really could not say for real how much it could take me. Besides that, this model was pretty hard for me, and I did a lot forth and back on her on the sculpting phase, one of the most difficult models I´ve made, and the crits Rich gave us on this last project where really hard, it was really great and horrible at the same time jaja, but in the end it is all for your benefit and helps you get better and better
About my workflow and being where I want to be… I think I´m just starting out
I got a new job at a game studio as Character Artist, so I´m finally going to be working characters all day long. I really hope this will boost my skills more, cause until now I really had to do all this work at night and it was pretty hard sometimes :). So I´d say that right now I feel pretty confident about creating characters professionally, but I know I still have so so much to learn and I believe this is always going to be like this.
Sorry for so much text buddy, hope it helps
Juan.
