Gallery Turntable plugin problem.

Hi guys, I’m trying to submit a recent work for the turntable gallery using the plugins as directed here:
http://www.pixologic.com/turntable/instructions/

Problem is, the plugin seems to be bugging out when rendering the frames; it makes the background colour a solid black, ignoring any document settings I play with. It always comes out as a solid black background at render time…

I doubt this is normal since all the gallery turntables have a shaded background… I’m all out of ideas on how to fix this…

I tried:
-Messing with the background gradient in Document menu…
-Setting the main interface’s 2 colour swatches to gray…
-Preview and final render quality…

Nothing works, it always seems to overtake control of the BG and make it black at render time, which looks horrible in this case…

Ideas? Thanks all.

The plugin is designed to create the images exactly as needed for the Turntable Gallery. The black background is normal.

HTH,

The problem is my model is too dark with polypaint against black. In the gallery there are some with a a non-black background. How do they accomplish it with the plugin?

As far as I know, all the turntables in the Turntable Gallery have black backgrounds. You must be going by the thumbnails. You could make your document black and set up your lighting so the mesh is more visible.

The plugin automatically sets the black background, so there is no way to change it. If you don’t want to do the black background I suggest you use the feedback option at the Turntable Gallery to ask about that.

2-3-4-5-6-7 on Matt Board’s turntable on page 2, are all gray.

Andrew Klein on page 7.

I’ve seen others but can’t find them right this second.
So I figured there must be a way.

Figured it out, you have to turn on fog to ‘cheat’ a different background colour. Works well enough,
Hope this helps others in the future.
