Free ZTL Model from Nick Zuccarello (new VIDEO page 9 added 8/7/08)

Hello

I really want to download this masterpiece, but am having trouble doing so. I have a Mac G5 and am running Leopard 10.5.4. The problem is that when I click “download file here” I get a screen full of code giberish that goes on forever, but to my dismay nothing gets downloaded to my desktop. Is this a PC only download? Oh yeah and to answer the question…yes I am logged-in when I attempt the download. Please help!!!

You need to install WinRAR. There is a Mac version. www.rarlab.com/download.htm

Keep in mind, though, that this model was built in ZBrush 3. It will not work with Z2.

Thank you for the fast reply. Although I don’t have ZB3 yet, I will still download WinRAR and this amazing model anyway while I wait patiently. By the way, when is ZB3 coming out for Mac anyway…JUST KIDDING, REALLY—LOL—Just thought I’d have some fun with you. Thanks again for the info.

Thank’s Nick
i’ll open a wine bottle in your honor…if you are near Rome i’ll be happy drink with you.(sorry for my english)
Bye
Leo

Nick, you freakin rock!! Aurick, thanks for keeping an eye out for it!

Nick, thanks very much for posting up this great model for everyone to use. As you say, it may not be perfect but it’s a damn good try. Human anatomy is a complex thing and you can easily get lost in the forms and details. It will be of great use to all of us.

As for the other… thing. As Homer Simpson once said “I don't agree with a word you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.” Lots of people around here write about what inspires them and religion can inspire as much as anything else. MX

thank you so much for this fantastic tool, nick.

i will save a lota time to start every base mesh from ground zero.

:+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

Thank you Nick :+1: :+1: …and thank you for your message as well.

I’m saddened some showed intolerance to words that could not harm them, but encouraged there were so few. It is sad when people demand censorship and show hate toward others beliefs and pretend it is anything but intolerance and censorship.

Muchas gracias senior!

Thanks a lot:+1:

Thanks Nick, though I am a bit far from being able to use this to its best abilities at this time (low experience and low computer memory), I’m sure I can use it soon as a learning tool. Thanks.

Now the question for the rest of the group is, is it ethical to use this model and then claim and post any future works as original by me or anyone else since we did not create the original base model? How is this looked on by the group and other artists? I just wonder.
I hate to do some wonderful work using this great model then be shot down by critics due to me not starting from “scratch” as it were.
Any thoughts?

Hey anyone found a Watchmen smiley yet for posts? LOL
Cindi

In general, always give credit to the person that made the base, or that you didnt make that base yourself. In this case its much more than just a base mesh, I know because iv made a few ,and they take alot of work in itself, before even sculpting it.

The bad crits normaly come when somone that has posted work thats mearly been slightly modified from say a poser base, but has either taken full credit for the whole process, or not said nothing when its often clear they didnt make the peice from ground up.

Sculpt this base into somthing great, pose it and set a scene, and your get credit for the drastic changes and imagination you put into it. If i was to use another mesh where its the core of my peice, I would mention it to make it perfectly clear.

so, would anybody think that using this model as a base mesh for a competition would be a cheap thing to do?
a lot of people have problems with anatomy, this actually would help them a lot, get them ‘there’ faster. I think this is a great model to practice re-topologizing on too, and perhaps create something completely different…
opinions on this whole credit and merit thing would be great… the one posted above is good too.

and… hey NickZ: you got a girl coming in pretty soon???

I totally agree with you!

Much appreciation for the free model, but I am in agreement with Dan-Burke. The Z-Brush forums are no place for preaching. :+1:

That depends on the competition rules, and what the competition was for.

Personally I think the preaching is way out of line. I don’t care about the model however nice it is your not the only one that can model and as soon as I have time to get back to my personal work I will be posting a free ztl for this community without the dogma.
Feel free to follow my link to see a work in progress of my current models, note that I include the genitals…which your model seems to lack which seems ironic in regard to your religious beliefs and dare I say rant.
:rage: :rage:

Nick, thank you so much! I’m so glad to see your artwork at all times. To have lent your talents to others is very kind indeed sir.

You are not alone.

What a great contribution!
