yeah actually I modeled Frank with his mouth open. and he’s supposed to smoke cigars so at the last minute I just “pop” stuck it in there. haha. Definately something I have to work on. thanks Gulag
haha that guy went to my school. but I think he was a Grad student. Didn’t know him though.
cool stuff
Hey Steve!
Glad to see you posting here.
The model is excellent, I am really liking all the small details you are doing to all the parts of the model. You definitely have a strong style which reverberates through out your models. Something I fail to see in 3d art nowadays…
Damn that hand looks great!
I think your clothing is a bit thick. His coat, around the neck area especially, needs a bit of that fabric feel. It feels a bit rough.
also, some of the folds in the pants don’t look real enough. I know you are going for a stylized feel but the folds should at least be more sharp (pinch tool more!) and drape downwards rather then horizontally. Overall the folds should be deeper and tighter both in the pants and the coat. Don’t be afraid to dig in and really exaggerates the folds either. Use reference and exaggerate!! ;]
The only other thing that kind of feels weird is the mustache and the goatee. They looked great until I noticed that his hair has volume! I say give some volume to them too.
And also give some transparency’s to those glasses! I think if we saw his eyes it will give the character more “soul”.
Keep kicking ass. I cant wait to see what next your crazy head comes up with.
yeah the pants weren’t ever finished (they’re missing the seam cause of this) I think I ran out of steam towards the end. The critique was really helpful the next post of this guy will definately reflect this. thanks dude.
this charcater is nice !!! good work!
Great detail and style love this
