Is there a way to change the font size for the text in the ZBrush interface? The defaults are waaaaaaayyyyyyy to small to be usable. I’m using ZBrush with Windows XP
I believe I read something about being able to do something about that in the Preferences menu but I won’t be sure until I can check it out myself. But look there and see.
Yeah, that was the first place that I looked, and no luck so far.
There is no way to change the font size of standard interface items. Zscript buttons can of course be coded to use a larger font and the pop up description windows (press Ctrl and hover the cursor over an interface item) can be set to either large or small(normal) font size.
I normally run Zbrush at a screen resolution of 1280x768, not because of the font size but for speed. At 1280x768 I leave the canvas at the default 640x480. The canvas size influences the draw speed of any 3D object so smaller is better. When I am ready to compose a picture (when all the elements are modeled) I increase the screen resolution. Needless to say the font is easily readable at 1280x768.
Hope that helps.
does the windows aps to control such things have no effect on Zbrush? I have no idea about that other than knowing you can set things with windows for physical difficulties…hhahaha like us old folks getting old and not see so good any more.
I actually need to look into it cuz even with reading glasses it is hard to read and see stuff these days. So please let us know what ya find out.
Hi,
Adding to the replies by aminuts and TVeyes ( thanks )…
You may want to try and use the Active-Zoom button to continuously zoom into the area under the cursor, including interface items.
Here is an example a UI-configuration in which the large active-zoom button has been incorporated into the left shelf.
Note 1: To drag an interface item from a palette into a shelf, press the CTRL key and then click+drag the item.
Note 2: Click on the active-zoom button to set its magnification level. In the above example, the magnification level is set to x2.
Note 3: Pressing the TAB key will hide /unhide floating buttons.

Hahah cool, thanks Pixolator, perhaps that is what I read about, I believe (well since the mind seems to be going as well as the eyes we can’t be sure hahaha) it will be a big help!
Just curious, is there a refund policy for ZBrush?
