Anyone know why the focal shift is set to -55 as a default?

I understand what it’s for - I just don’t know why they plumbed for -55 as a default.

They didn’t, it’s zero. But Focal Shift is saved with the sculpting brush so if you have either changed the default setting for the Standard brush or have a different brush selected you may have a different value.
