Flipped Maps

WinXP32 SP3
ZB 3.1
3dsmax 2009

Anyone know if there’s a way to export texture maps out of ZBrush in such a manor that they don’t get flipped the wrong way? I’m currently either flipping them vertically in Phothshop, or in 3dsmax I set the V-Tiling for the map’s coordinates to -1. It’s kind of annoying after the billionth time having to do it though. The only maps that come out of ZB with the proper orientation are displacement maps.

Thanks,
Dustin

texture>flipV

Ok, so you still have to do it for every texture. I was more looking for something I could set once and save in my config so I didn’t have to worry about it anymore. Thanks though.

You could record a macro. The resulting button could then be added to you interface.

  1. Select a texture (any texture).
  2. Press Macro>New Macro.
  3. Flip the texture so that it is oriented the way you want.
  4. Press Texture>Export. When the dialog appears, just press Cancel.
  5. Press Macro>End Macro and save the Macro to your Startup\Macros folder.
  6. Press Reload All Macros if the button doesn’t appear.

HTH,

Clever. Thanks, Marcus

I have an action set up in PS that does the same thing. But having it right in Zbrush is a great idea. Thanks Marcus

Yeah marcus thanks a lot that saves a few clicks.
Didnt know till now that zbrush macros are as easy to use
as photoshop actions  :+1:
