Flesh buildup theory...

Hi, I’m very new to zbrush but am making pretty good progress on my first figure. I’ve modelled a stylised skull, and ideally I want to keep it as it is and build up a removable ‘layer’ of flesh, muscles and skin, in rather the same way as one might build up clay over a plastic mannequin head.
Is this possible in zbrush? The only thing I’ve found close is a making a new layer with my base mesh and resculpting that. But thats just distorting the mesh, instead of adding new ‘clay’ on top of the existing base.
Hopefully someone will understand what I want to attempt, and be able to tell me if it’s even possible.

Thanks

thanks zber. I don’t know if zspheres aren’t a stage too far for me. I’m worried about anding up with an atrocious mesh that i have to retopologise. I don’t think I’m up to it yet, and I only have three weeks to complete this project which is only half way. so I’m very crushed for time.

I’ll apologise for not replying and thanking you here too as well

thank you again.
