flat model - Answered

I pressed some hotkey by mistake earlier today and now all my meshes and subtools show up in a flat grey. I’ve tried saving the tools and opening in a new project but they still appear the same way, even when I’ve restarted zbrush.
I’ve not got a clue how to go about fixing this; I think I pressed ctrl f or similar at first, as the result looked like the ‘fill layer’ command. I managed to fix that, but now I’ve got this…

thanks

There are a few possibilities.

  1. Check the material. If it’s FlatColor, the model will look like this because there’s no shading.

  2. Check the Render palette to make sure you’re on the Preview render.

  3. You might have drawn the model with no depth. In that case, press T to exit Edit mode, W to turn on the gyro, then check the Z Intensity setting. If it’s at 0, change it to 100 before pressing T to return to Edit mode.

hi,

thanks - I think I was in flat render mode. I managed to get round it by loading an earlier model, but I’ve jut recreated something very similar with the flat render view. If there’s a hotkey for it; something+f it was definitely that as I intended to ‘frame’ but hit one of the modifier keys with it and that’s when it all went wrong.

fixed now anyway. thanks
