Fit object to document size?

This might be a bit strange but I’m trying to get my object to fit to the same size as my document. I’ll give an example: Just say I have a sphere object and I want it to fit so that it fills up to the document size and width perfectly.

Is that any way possible?

Thanks in advance.

The simplest way to do this is to:

  1. Draw your model on the canvas. Do NOT switch on Edit mode.
  2. Switch on Scale so that the Gyro appears.
  3. Click and drag inside the Gyro until the model is scaled to the size you wish.

Another way which you might try but which involves resizing your model, so backup first:

  1. With your model in Edit mode, press Tool>Deformation>Unify.
  2. Switch OFF Edit mode and switch on Scale, so that the Gyro appears.
  3. Open the Transform menu and click on the Info subpalette. There will be three sliders: X Component, Y Component & Z Component.
  4. From the Document menu get the shortest document measurement (height or width) and divide this in half.
  5. Enter this value in the three sliders, pressing Enter each time to make sure the value is assigned.

Oh, you’re good…

I was actually getting this info for my friend Paul who makes tutes for Zbrush. He passes on his thanks. I think he has something up his sleeve for his next tutorial but even though your technique works, he might not be able to use it for what he wants to do. Something to do with transparency, he says.

Anyway, Thanks for your help from both me and him.

All the best.
