First ZBrush

Hi Everyone.

Firstly I’d like to say that I’m new here so please be gentle.

I have just started my first project in ZBrush - a dragon. I created the mesh in modo, brought it into ZBrush and started playing around. However I get this warning when I try to add more geometry. Can anyone help??

Also, after this I wanted to add nostrils so I went back into modo to create a couple of edge loops but when it came back into ZBrush there was a hole in the geometry. Any ideas??

Thanks

You need to change the level in your preferences… Look under mem tab and you will see max poly per mesh

Hey there …

sorry but forget about the mem tab and stuff. What is happening is that you are trying to subdivide with parts of your mesh being hidden. That’s why ZB is telling you to go the the lowest Subdiv. Also at least on this image you have a mask painted on the model. Make sure you delete all masks before you subdivide.

So either you need to unhide the hidden Polys (ctrl+shift+click/drag on the empty canvas) or you need to clear your mask (ctrl+shift+a)

Hope that helps.

Oh hey your right… I didnt really read the error message closely… sorry about that.

 No probs man

Thank you. It was indeed the mask on his jaw causing the error.
