Hey cass83!

To be honest with u i prefer the concept one a lot more than the musclulant…
As for the anotomy i cant really judge cause im learning that atm too. So far it looks pretty good! I think u need to round out the muscles a bit more, u can see at the abs they look a bit flat…

Keep it up! lookin good

meletis: Thanks for the comment. I may tone down the cuts in the muscles some to keep closer to my orinal idea. I think I’m just having a ton of fun at the momment with Z-brush and may have gotten a little carried away with how easy it is to sculpt out some bulging muscles! I’ll try to round the muscles a bit too, the abs are looking a bit flat now that you mention it.

Here is the maya mesh. I will work more on the high rez tonight.

I think he will look better with a shorter neck, and thinner legs. You schoul stay closer to teh concept with the proportions ;]

slocik: Thinner all around in the legs or just muscle defention wise? So to make it closer to the concept what would you suggest? Just tone down muscle def oR what other things do you or anyone else notice to keep with the feel of my original concept?

Great Model you have there: may i suggest, since your alien berserker seems reptilian, maybe some spikes or hornes, not big ones just crockadile spikes. if you are feeling up to it, dragon scales may help accentuate the character. you may add breathing fins for his neck cause he looks amphibious. just some suggestions.

oh im sorry, i totally didnt read the whole thread in its entirety, i thought you wanted ideas. didnt realize you already had a concept image.

looks good, the feet are very cool, but i think the neck is too long compared to the concept which looks better to me in that regard

well there is one thing that i noticed. in your concept the toenails are much longer and almost touch the ground. in your model its short, just extrude it

the lower parts of his legs look like one big bone covered with muscles, i think you schould put something that will look like an ankle and a heel;] Also the hands and arms are too small, and they have weak muscles compered to the torso

Pixmaker: Thanks for the comments! I like your ideas but I want to try to stay closer to my concept on this one. You are right the toenails are shorter on the model, I changed this on purposes for functionality. The neck can be retracted on shot out rather far like E.T. or a slinky. I’ve modeled it in between two extremes, (same with the mouth) for deformation/ animation. One of my buddies characters will be cutting off my aleins head for one of his animations which I may post if its good. Thanks!

Erklaerbar: Thank you.

Slocik:You are right. I incorporated most of your suggestions. Thanks!

I’m calling this guy done, I’m running out of time since I still need to texture, pose and light him, my friend is rigging and animating him. Overall, I’m happy with this guy, I’ve learned allot and feel more comfortable in Z-brush. I’ll update again once it’s in the final stages in a few days. Thanks for looking everyone.

I redid the back and added allot to the face, gums and mouth area. This is the normal map, it finally turned out pretty good I think. My freinds been animating him and this guy moves around pretty awesome too! Texture and such are coming shortly. All crtis welcome.
