First post/sculpt - Screaming guy/Vampire

Hello everyone, first post here…

My name is Miguel Madaíl de Freitas, i’m from Portugal, i’ve been in the 3D industry for some years, 10 or something now, working in some vfx houses here, ranging work from arch viz, effects, characters, whatever.

I’ve finnally had the time to get my hands on Zbrush trial and learn it! So here i leave my first sculpting, it took me a lot more than for all the pros here, done and redone some parts etc, and learning more along the way

C&C very welcome, please do!

P.s-Anyone knows if its possible to smooth the sculpting in a specific layer, without afecting whats beneath? (ex: smooth wrinkles without smoothing bone structure, etc?)

Enjoy

Just a side issue. I’ve posted this hours ago, but only four hours or so later i was able to see the post, but as if it was here for long… is it normal?

Good job! What is the character suppose to be? Also, I hope you find ZBrush useful enough to buy it. Believe me, it’s worth every penny.

minor point: Does this guy have a tongue??

Looks good

You can change the layer details by using morph targets and the morph brush.

Hi! Thanks for the input.

Tjx: It’s not supposed to be anything in particular, just started some sphere and started sculpting until some form and ideas came up.

Elixir: Well, i guess he ca say “i have no tongue, and i must scream!”

spaceboy412: I’ve tried that, but that simply “erases” the layered info… you cant actually smooth things out that way, but nevertheless its almost like it… I just thought there would be a better way…

Maybe a future feature

Hi there,

Recent update. I tweaked his face in order to remove it’s “symmetricality” and i found its face to be quite boring to be anything more than an expression/anatomy test, which was in the first place

So i went on and changed it a bit to resemble some vampire in a more human form

C&C welcome, enjoy.

nice scult hughe improvement from first try! for smoothing specific ares u maybe could use the 3d layers u could have a layer just for the wrinkles and could smooth it out that way ill try it out myself lateron

thanks!

the way to do that smoothing is using a morph and brushing up what we want, but thats isnt smoothing, is just “erasing” that stuff a bit.

I have to find out some ideas for the rest of the scene. Any ideas?

Cheers
