First 'pose' - need feedback

ZBC1.jpg

Hi all,

I’m working on The Flash model, still WIP but I wanted to get feedback on the pose and any other things that may need work.
The cube is a placeholder. I still need to tweek things like hands, feet and add his eyes and ear things.

Thanks in advance.

I think he needs to be putting more wait on his right leg. He looks a little off balance. Arms may be a bit too short. Overall, he looks very good; nice and clean sculpting, but I think he would make a better Superman than Flash.

His pose reminds me a lil’ of this …

… expect that I like the anatomy you are going with far better.

A.Ceylan, Yeah, that was the pose I was using as a reference, but I changed it up a bit. Mostly cause I can’t really tell what he is doing from the side.

Webhead, I’ll see if I can try to add weight to his right leg, I think his hands may be too small as well as his arms.

Thanks for the help.

Do you think he would be a better superman?

This looks pretty cool. I really like the reference comiquette. Keep it up.

Personally, I always pictured the Flash more lean, like a runner, or a cheetah. The sculpture A.Ceylan posted, which seems to be your reference, does have the Flash beefed up, as do some artists who draw him. It’s a nice sculpt. I just feel he should be more sleek, built for speed, rather than looking like a bodybuilder, or a weightlifter. I think that build suits The Man Of Steel more, but that’s just my opinion.

Really nice job on that anatomy, but think that bent knee…the muscle would protude, there wouldn’t be a indentation.

Webhead, I get what you’re saying.

AVTPro, You're right, I'll be working on the pose specific muscle changes soon. I made some small changes, made his arm longer and also his hands. I also enlarged his head a tad, also started on his ear peice. I just started on the textures for a change of pace and made a test render. Next step is to get his hands a work over and his boots plus do a pass on his anatomy for the pose. The textures are just flat shaded right now, especially noticeable on his face.

This is just a test…it doesn’t look too bad if you squint.

Tried some changes to the pose to make him look more grounded but it didn’t look good, going to be doing some more tries later.

Very nice… it’s a good start!

I like the shape of his body,if you could add a render with lights it would look great¡

ikeee, Sankar, Thanks!
I just noticed his logo is flipped.

Here’s an update… not too fond of the rock, just needed something else to look at then the cube.

C&C welcomed.

Nice update. He’s starting to grow on me more and more. I like the little wrinkles: Really gives the feeling of a skin-tight costume.

Thanks a lot Webhead. You we’re very right about the arms in the first post, I made them longer and it worked out way better. Good eye!

his cloth seems to be covering full his body also his head, there is a space for his mouth, are you going to paint that seperation? will be better to do earlier…i agree totally with webhead…Flash my one of favourite was born for run faster,so he should be lean in a perfect way.his shape should be in good manner…ALTHOUGH your sculpt is very nice and clean…he is a body buider.keep it up…

mohamed raoof, yeah, I’m going to do his mask ‘indent’ along with the lighting on his arms and waist…
I tried it but it was too ‘choppy’ I need to go up another division but my computer can’t handle that. I’m trying to figure out a way to split him into subtools that don’t leave a gap when going up another division then the other parts, hope that made sense.

I was going for a more ‘beefed’ up version kind of like the image shown earlier. I should probably make his waist/hips smaller though.

Thanks for the comment

I am not sure if this is your final pose, I would love to see him in more of a “mid move” pose. He is the Flash, I never really picture him so static. Gorgeous sculpt though!

Pittgilman, I get your point, I may try a few other poses once he is done though. I wanted to start off easy.
Thanks for the comment.

Well, I’m almost done with the model. I just need to tweak his face a bit more.
I managed to go up another division and add the mask and lighting stuff.
Next step will be the textures and background models.

Thanks for all the help so far.

Looking good overall. Now, I’m wondering if his legs might be a little bit too short, particularly, the lower leg. Not sure. What do you think?
