Mechanical pieces are definitely your strong suite. You need a lot more work on your organic sculpting. I’d suggest really taking a look at learning anatomy, even if you’re going for a stylized look you need to know how it’s supposed to look normally or you won’t be able to stylize with a purpose(if that makes sense).
@Droma - perhaps I shouldn’t speak for the artist of this thread - but not all art depends or even benefits from perfect anatomy. Looking back over the fine stuff in the thread I see whimsical cartoon drawings being turned into equally whimsical and successful sculptures. If your crit was narrowly directed at the specific anatomical problems it would be a lot fairer and helpful. Making broad generalized crits seldom helps in my teaching experience. Especially when such a crit fails to take into consideration the aesthetic vocabulary the artist is operating in. If you look back over the history of what Pixologic has granted ‘top row’ you will certainly find examples of art in a similar cartoon vein. Could the art here get better - certainly - but i’m convinced good design decisions count a lot more in this artist’s oeuvre than mere anatomical adeptness.
