Hey guys this is my frst sculpt in zbrush, just basic skull. Please critique as much as possible. It’s great to hear from others so I can improve my work in the future. Thanks!
you’ve got a start to something here, you should use some photo reference, to have more accuracy in the shapes, and it’s always better to rough out the shapes at lower subdivisions and get more detailed as you go. but keep going the more your work with zbrush the better you’ll get.
hey buddy
looks like a decent start, but i think you need to drop the subdivisions down a few levels, and rework the basic shapes and proportions of the skull. firstly, it is overall too flat. there is no definition, no deep areas. every thing looks a little too uniformly contoured. perhaps taking these JPG’s and overlaying an image of an actual skull in photoshop would be a good approach to address this. further consultation of your reference sources would be wise as well. ive included a few paint-overs of your post to better illustrate what i am referring to. i highlighted a few areas that i can see need particular help. this is by no means a comprehensive re-work, but more of just suggestions.
