I made this image for the First Contact challenge hosted by Pablo Munoz Gomez at zbrushguides.com. The theme of the challenge was “the unknown” to interpret the words “First contact”. My idea was to create an aquatic alien species that lived before humans and stayed on earth silently during the human evolution, until now.
I’m not use design creatures or aliens but I enjoyed a lot creating this piece anyway. During the creation process I explored a lot of new techniques and refined some others, so I decided to make a little breakdown of what I’ve done on each phase of the process.
