Thanks Vincent! It was a combination of dam standard and a custom crease brush, and then I used the snakehook brush to pull out the flaring details.
Again, really nice job on Dr. Manhattan. One of my two favorite graphic novels of all time along with the Dark Knight Returns. Still wishing they would do a movie of that one lol.
Well, I finally decided that I couldn’t do a series of classic movie monsters and not do Lugosi as Dracula. Still a ton of tweaking to do. I don’t like the hair as it is now and I hope to make the likeness a little closer to the real thing. Let me know what you think.
Wolfman wip. I’m definitely going to redo the fur but wanted a place-holder to show me where I’m going. Crits and suggestions are very welcome. I’m struggling a little on this one.
wow voodoodad great seeing that you are sculpting organic works man! really cool works and definently keep it going!
my favourite is the dracula!
Cheers,
Thanks, Kenny! Drac is definitely my favorite sculpt so far As I stated before, I was hesitant to do Lugosi because of his very sad and somewhat embarrassing story after heroine and Ed Wood got their hooks into him. The though of him wrestling with the giant rubber octopus in Bride of the Monster still brings me to tears and laughter at the same time. Nevertheless, I had a great time doing that one and I’m thinking of doing a mock movie poster with it just to give it the attention I think it deserves.
Man, I was in the middle of doing that last night when I had the weirdest Zbrush crash so far. I was just turning the model to a side view and BOOM! insta-crash! I didn’t lose a whole lot of work, but got frustrated and just went and did something else for a while. I’ll probably dive back in tonight for the teeth and a rework of the fur. Another thing is it’s really tough finding any good reference photos of Lon Chaney Jr. in the Wolfman. Lots of front views, but really nothing usable of the side. Stupid google!
Thanks for the comments, guys! Always appreciated!
Getting better all the time. glad you put teeth in him. I would have just stuck for lowers if you are doing Chaney Jr and I would have jut his lower jaw out more. Also Jack Pierce didn’t’,for some strange reason, give Chaney painted ears on the wolfman .Having said that though I did on mine.
Thank you, Rick. A always your comments mean a huge amount to me, but especially on this piece. I’m not going for an absolute likeness of Chaney on this one. Seems like I could either get a decent likeness of him, or a decent looking werewolf but not both at the same time. The upper teeth are bothering me, too so I’ll drop them before I finalize this. Regarding the jaw, I had it pulled out in one iteration, but it looked like he had a dislocated jaw but I’m sure I can tweak it out to make it look better. Regarding the ears, I never knew that! When I first scupted them they just looked weird as regular human ears so I pulled them up and out then painted them to my liking.
Thanks again for the comments and the tips, Rick. My wife can’t understand why I squeal like a little girl every time I get a comment from Rick Baker. Women!
Someone on Deviantart requested that I give Quasimodo a tear and I thought it looked fairly interesting, so here it is. Also switched to a tweaked skin shader.
