Following the release of the Marvel Studios movie THOR, I thought I’d share one of several ‘Frost Giant’ concepts I did for Legacy Effects - the company responsible for the films practical make-up effects and for whome I work as a concept artist/character designer !
Sculpting and rendering for this guy was done (rather quickly) in Zbrush 3.1 with layer compositing and tweaks later in Photoshop !

Thought I’d post this shot from ‘The Art of Legacy Effects’ currently showing at the Gnomon Gallery in North Hollywood.
I did this concept for Legacy Effects back in 2008 using mostly photoshop, although a very basic Zbrush sculpt was used at the begining to block in general forms and lighting ! Unlike most of the scraps I usualy post on this thread this was a finished piece and took about a day and a half from start to finish !
The Gnomon show also features great concept work by my friends/colleagues Scott Patton and Ian Joyner and various other talented folk from the workshop who were involved with the construction of the Halo and Ironman/Ironman 2 suits and maquettes !
