final project problem

Hi all, my name is Zlatan.

Here I’ve attached an image of my final project that I am working on. It’s due in a week. Unfortunately, I am having some problems with it. I am still learning how to properly distribute and use polys I create. Needless to say, I’ve run up the poly count. The project is not finished. I haven’t added all the detail I wanted around the area where the neck and mechanical pieces meet. I wanted some kind of skin fold and weathering. If I add more detail on the mesh my project can’t open. It actually keeps crashing ZBrush. Second problem is even after I decimate my subtools, all together it is too big for Maya. And even individually my subtools won’t even unwrap in ZBrush. What I need is to get a normal map, so that I can put it on a low poly mesh. Any suggestions and comments would be greatly appreciated. Hey there,

well if your Polycount is that high, you’ve got 2 options. First would be using remesh, but i don’t think it will solve your problem.

Your best option would be doing a retopo of your mesh and projecting the details on the low poly (or lower poly ;)) mesh.
