Fibermesh to Blender, as hair - How to do this?

Hi there all,
Has anyone had any success with getting Fibermesh into blender and getting good results?
So far, I’ve taken Fibermesh in and been able to render as a mesh object, but I can’t get the mapping coordinates right, and so can’t get fading opacity at the tips, or a gradient diffuse map along the length of the hairs.

So has anyone been able to convert Fibermesh into either
1 - Hair.
2 - Some sort of guide in order to generate Blender hair.

or does anyone know of any scripts?

The reason being, sculpting hair and fur in Zbrush is bar far the best and most intuitive. But I want to render in Blender.
