Fibermesh, smoothing middle of a strand possible?

I have a real hard time with fibermesh.


  1. First I have generated and combed them to a hair style I wanted to by using a grouping method shown by J. Drust in his videos.
  2. Now I want to move some parts of the hair closer to skin, How do I do it?
  3. I also would like to smooth out just the middle of hair strands without ruining the whole style how can I do it (smooth brush is not giving me the right results)?
