Fibermesh rendering in a pass [Answered]

Do anyone know a trick to render just a fibermesh (hair) as a separate pass but cut out. If i just leave hair on and hide a body it will render hair from the back of the head also so then it will require manual cutting.

Is there any quicker trick you could advice?

You could do it using the Flat Color material for the other SubTools:

  1. For the Fibers, fill with a suitable material.
  2. For all the other SubTools, make sure Colorize is off in the Tool > Polypaint sub-palette.
  3. Select the Flat Color material and white in the color picker.

If you render with BPR then all the SubTools will render as falt white. You could set the Document > Back to white also, and get rid of the gradient, if you needed to but the Mask and Shaded images in the RenderPass sub-palette should make it easy to isolate the fibers.

HTH,

Not a bad idea, I’ll give it a shot tonight.

this worked well, thanks marcus_civis
