Fibermesh and BPR Shadow Issue

Hey everyone,

when rendering fibermesh with BPR it looks like the shadows are rendered before the BPR Setting SubD Level is applied to the fibermesh.
I attached an image with an example.

It’s not an issue with that specific mesh.

Does anyone knows how to fix that?

Could make a difference, after the BPR > convert BPR to geo, it would seem then you should get better shadows from it. I haven’t tried it though.

Hey Doug,

thanks, that’s some kind of workaround, which includes doing the hair again, as far as i know.

Currently the hair is single sided and will get 4 sided and 3 times subded when rendered in BPR.
One of the ways it should be done.

You’ve done the hair but it hasn’t been converted to geometry. There’s a button to convert BPR to Geo. Sounds like workflow rather than workaround to me.

Yes, it looks like a workflow, but that would result in a 40 million polygon mesh for the hair.
sadly not really usefull.
So there has to be another way.

40 million? Never been able to get that high for 1 subtool. Too many or too much for what? BTW, I tried to search the docs for info on this, but didn’t get the results I’d hoped for to share with you. They’re probably still updating them.
