I searched for this issue but found no results, anyone know what’s up? Is my gpu the problem?

What issue? What exactly are you talking about? All I see in the image is two seperate instances of FiberMesh with different settings.
ZBrush doesn’t use your GPU so that is not the problem.
That’s the thing it’s only one instance, it seems to only appear when I’m using groom hair long brush so i stopped using it and the “cubes” stopped showing up.
That is strange. I have never seen GroomHairLong brush do that. If it’s persistent, you should submit a Support ticket.
I know this is an old thread, but for others that are still having this problem after sculpting and grooming the hair here is the solution. When you make a fiber mesh it automatically includes a morph target for the length and width. To get the width of the fibers back to their original state without changing all your grooming go to Morph Target - and slide Morph width all the way to 100, et voila now when you BPR render the fibers will look correct
