Few issues with 2021.6.2

Hi All,

I tried my best to find the answers elsewhere before creating a post but I have a couple things that are bugging me with the new release that I hope someone can help me with. I don’t know if they are settings or a bug.

first thing, is my zbrush is autoloading the last quicksave file upon opening. It never did this before, only with the 2021.6 release the other day and with each subsequent update this week. I looked under quick save and some other preference settings but can’t seem to find the solution.

2.- new curves, I am know that the bend start and bend end are effecting the handling of curves now, but I was having issues where regardless or my draw size both on the curve and outside of curve, i cannot get small adjustments to the curve itself, meaning, I cannot get it fold back on it’s self regardless of lazy mouse, repel strength, lazy step, resolution etc.

I think that’s it for now, I’ve noticed some issues with depth on my curves where regardless of the embed they are still much further off the surface and wasn’t sure if that was the repel feature of not.

oh and I’m on Windows 10

Thanks!

Kyle

  1. Autoloading of the last saved project is a new feature added in 2021.6. To disable, deactivate Preferences : Startup : Autoload Recent Project

  2. Not sure but try increasing the max bend angle to 90 in Brush : Modifiers : Max bend Angle. The default may have changed for the new brushes.

Hi @KyleBrown

To add to what @tobor8man already said in regard to the curve brushes, it depends on the situation and the type of curve stroke being applied. If you are, for instance, working with the new curve alpha or extrude profile brushes, decreasing the value of the Curve Step in Stroke > Curve may help. If using an IMM brush with a curve stroke, the stroke will be limited by the geometry you attach to it. If your segments of geometry are too long, this will limit how sharp of a bend the curve can make.

Please keep in mind that technical support for ZBrush is provided at Pixologic Support. If you’d like attention for what you think is a bug or a technical issue for ZBrush, that is the place to report it. Your issue may be missed otherwise.

Take care! :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi @KyleBrown, Welcome to ZBC!

About the curve being further off the surface, I suggest you to check that part of the Paul’s last stream session.

Hope it helps!
